Apex rebuilt its rules with its 4.0 update in March 2026 and continues to adjust them. This guide reflects the structure as of November 2026; confirm details in Apex's Help Center before trading. Clarity Tracking is not affiliated with Apex Trader Funding.
Apex Trader Funding is one of the largest futures prop firms. It uses a one-step evaluation, after which you trade a simulated Performance Account (PA) with payout eligibility. The rule that decides most outcomes is the trailing drawdown.
With intraday trailing, the drawdown floor moves up with your highest open profit during the day, so a trade that runs up and then reverses can tighten your floor even if you close it flat. With EOD trailing, the floor only updates from your end-of-day balance. Traders who let winners run usually find EOD more forgiving, but it is still a trailing limit.
Clarity Tracking syncs Tradovate accounts and shows drawdown on every trading day. Rithmic and WealthCharts accounts are not synced directly. If you run several PAs, view them side by side to see your real combined performance. Use the risk of ruin calculator with "from peak" selected to model a trailing limit.
